News was received from Sparta Saturday that John Thayer died that day at noon, of paralysis. Deceased formerly lived in Neillsville, Clark County and was engaged in the mercantile business here. He has made regular visits to this city as a traveling salesman for many years. His wife is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. A. Austin.
