Foote, Frank R. (2 Dec 1867 - 23 MAY 1905)
Frank Ross Foote died at the family home on Pleasant Ridge, Clark County, May 23, 1905, after a lingering illness from consumption. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Foote and was born at the Ross Eddy farm Dec. 2, 1867. He grew to manhood here and graduated from the Neillsville High School. Later he was bookkeeper in a bank in the south and on board a Mississippi steamer. Taking up the work of the railway postal service he steadily advanced to till he had won a lucrative position. Several years ago he was severely injured in a train wreck, since which time his health has gradually failed. He was married to Irene Holcomb, who after a few years died in 1897, leaving a little girl who is now living with the mother's parents in Florida.
Frank was one of the boys of which this community was proud. As he grew up and went out into the world, his ability, good habits and gentlemanly manner made a ready way for him, and his friends have marked with sorrow his gradual decline and sincerely mourn his death. He leaves, besides his little daughter, his mother, three sisters and a brother. The funeral will be held at the house, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Guy Campbell officiating.
