JULIUS A. WINTER (21 Sep 1872 - 11 Oct 1948)

Julius A. Winter, 76, of Pine Valley township, died of the effects of a stroke Monday, October 11, in his farm home. Funeral services were not scheduled until Tuesday, October 19, as it was impossible for a son and a daughter to get here before that time. The funeral took place in the Georgas Funeral Home, with the Rev. Virgil Nulton officiating. Burial took place in the Neillsville cemetery. Mr. Winter was born in Grant county, Sept. 20, 1872, the son of Joseph Winter and Ella Barnes Winter. He had been a resident of Clark county for 70 years, receiving his education in rural schools, and farmed in Pine Valley. In 1913 he married Jenny Winton, in Pine Valley. Eight children, all of whom survive, blessed the marriage. Mrs. Winter also survives. The children are: Grace, at home Clifford, of Neillsville Mrs. Ellis (Edith) Ottens of Morrison, Ill. Miss Alice Winter of Milwaukee Mrs. Leslie (Vivian) Flaherty of Rosemont W. Virginia Mrs. Fred (Florence) Marty of Granton Mrs. Ward (Clarice) Lockman of Long View, Wash. and Arthur Winter of Long View, Wash. Mr. Winter is also survived by six grandchildren, and by a brother, Eli Winter, of Neillsville.
