Bombard, Dale M. (19 Sep 1925 - 8 Jul 2002)

SPENCER - Dale M. Bombard, 76, of Spencer, died Monday, July 8, 2002, at his home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church. The Rev. Lois Takata will officiate.

Interment will be in West Spencer Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, grandsons-in-law and a family friend, Ron Seefeldt.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Community Funeral Home.

Dale was born Sept. 19, 1925, in Clark County to Milton and Mildred (McVean) Bombard. Dale served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was united in marriage to Doris Goodell on Oct. 11, 1947, in the town of Sherman. She died on April 17, 1978.

Dale farmed and worked at Pleasant Valley Farms, worked at Parkins Dairy and was a manager at its Merrill and other stores. He later married Lorraine (Eilers) Steines on Dec. 17, 1983, and they were divorced. He enjoyed bingo, playing cards and spending time with his great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two children, Michael (Victoria) Bombard at North Prairie and Barbara Schultz of Spencer five grandchildren, Michael Bombard, Sharon (Benjamin) Cox, Jamie (Rick Wodinowich) Schultz, Nicholas Schultz and Kyle (Diane) Schultz seven great-grandchildren, Kally, Elizabeth and Grace Wodinowich, Mandie and Jacob Schultz, Megan Schultz and Gabriele Cox and his sister, Charlotte Michaels of Rockford, Ill.

He was also prededed in death by his parents his daughter, Sharon Bombard and his brother Calvin Bombard.
