Rakovec, Joseph

Joseph Rakovec, 67, passed away at 6 o'clock Saturday morning, October 16, at his home five miles west of Greenwood after being ill for the past 2 1/2 years with heart trouble. He was born in Jugoslavia on February 27, 1876, coming to this country 40 years ago.

Mr. Rakovec was a member of the Holy Family Catholic church in Willard and its KSKJ society.

He is survived by his wife, five sons and one daughter: Joseph Rakovec of Marshfield; Pvt. Richard Rakovec, in service in the South Seas; Pfc. John Rakovec, in service in North Africa; Frank and Cyril Rakovec, both at home; Mrs. Frank (Mary) Pekol of Neillsville. He is also survived by five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning at the Holy Family Catholic church at Willard, the Rev. Raphael Strogisher will officiate. Interment will be made in the Holy Family cemetery.
