Wilke, Elsie (Marriage - 12 JUN 1907)
Mr. Frank Jahr of the town of Grant, Clark Co. and Miss Elsie Wilke were united in marriage at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilke in the town of Washburn, Clark Co., at 8 o'clock Wednesday evening, June 12, 1907, Rev. D.A. Rohrabaugh, officiating. About fifty guests were in attendance, and after the ceremony a fine supper was served. The rooms were decorated with ferns and flowers, and the bride carried a bouquet of pink carnations.
The groom is a young man of a most estimable character. He is a mason by trade and follows that occupation to a considerable extent, but he also owns a farm north of Granton. The bride is a young lady of who too much cannot be said in praise. Her good sense, kindness and reliable traits of character, and her womanly ways have won for her, even when a young girl, the love and admiration of those who knew her.
For the present we are informed, the young couple will board in Loyal, where the groom is working at his trade, and in about a month they will begin housekeeping in their own home. They take with them the good wishes of many friends in which we heartily join in.
