Evans, Jennie (Marriage - 18 Sep 1907)
The marriage of Miss Jennie Evans, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Evans of Columbia, and Mr. George R. Payne, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Payne, also of Columbia, took place at the home of Rev. Chas. H. Towne at Loyal, Clark County the 18th of Sept. 1907, Rev. Towne officiating. The only witnesses were Mrs. Mary E. Towne and Mr. Harry Philpott, also of Loyal.
The marriage was kept a secret as the bride had arranged to leave Columbia and stay with a sick sister in Chicago, later to return to her husband.
