Foote, James (16 Apr 1823 - 23 NOV 1905)
James Foote died at his home just outside the city limits (Neillsville, Clark County) on Thursday, Nov. 23, 1905. Deceased was born in Somersetshire, Eng., April 16, 1823. He was one of the earliest settlers in this locality and did much by his hard work to develop the country. He endured all the hardships of pioneer life and carried in mind many incidents of early Clark County life which were of great local interest. He was married about 35 years ago to Mrs. Catharine Lynch who died. Later he married Mrs. Margaret Owen, who survives him. He left no children. The funeral was held Sunday at the Presbyterian Church, Rev. Rohrabaugh officiating.
