A 40 x 104 foot machine shed and garage on the Ralph Baxter Property located at
Route 1, Dorchester, was partially destroyed by fire las Wednesday afternoon.
Fire departments from Dorchester and Abbotsford were called to put the fire out.
The firefighters were able to save the large machinery stored in the shed. A
car, snowmobile and all the small tools were destroyed.

promoted to the rank of acdet captain at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
Cadet Becker, a member of the class of 1977, has also be appointed a training
officer. Assignment to this position will provide invaluable job and leadership
experience.
The cadet attended Colby High School.

The Rev. Dan Venzke is the new pastor of the Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God
Church at Withee. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Venzke, Abbotsford. He
graduated from the Abbotsford high school in 1969, attended the UW at Medford
for 2 years, and graduated on 1973 from North Central Bible College,
Minneapolis.
Prior to accepting the call to Withee, Venzke had been assistant pastor at
Bedford, Ohio, and at Stillwater, Minnesota, and pastor at Wilson.
He is married and has two children, Chad, 4 and Tesha, 2.

Two Abbotsford High School students were winners in the District Forensics
Contest held recently in Stevens Point. Joel Hopperdietzel earned an “A” rating
in storytelling and Sherry Venzke received an “A” in reading prose. They will
participate in the state contest April 23, 1977 in Madison.
