Dodte, William (? - 18 Feb 1906)
William Dodte who has been lying sick for some weeks at the Conroy-Bachmann Hospital, died on Sunday the 18th. The physicians from the first had pronounced his symptoms those of arsenic poisoning and the case had aroused considerable curiosity. On Monday Justice Dudley had a jury summoned and an inquest was begun, Dist. Atty. Jackson examining a number of witnesses. A post mortem examination was ordered, the same being made by Dr. C. Bachmann and Dr. E.L. Bradbury. The inquest was adjourned until March 6, to give time to make chemical analyses to discover whether or not there are any traces of poison to be found.
The funeral took place Tuesday at the Presbyterian Church (Neillsville, Clark County), Rev. D.H. Rohrabaugh officiating.
Deceased leaves a wife, four daughters and one son.
He owned a farm in Pine Valley and followed the mason trade most of the time. He was considered an inoffensive man of good intentions and had no enemies as far as known.
