Brown, Henry W. (12 NOV 1850 - 29 JUN 1906)

Henry W. Brown died at his home on Grand Av. (Neillsville, Clark County), June 29, 1906, after a lingering sickness of several months, in fact his health had not been good for a much longer time.

Henry Brown was born in Milwaukee Nov. 12, 1850. When about ten years of age he came with his parents to Stevens Point. About four years later they moved to the town of Grant, Clark County. On Sept. 18, 1878 he was married to Catharine Selves and has made his home in Neillsville ver since. In his younger life he worked with his brother Jake as cook in camp and later became expert in the business himself. He learned the Carpenter's trade, and for a time had an interest in a wagon shop. He was considered an excellent workman and thoroughly reliable in every way. His manner was quiet and reserved, but he was strongly attached to his friends. No citizen of Neillsville ver had a larger measure of respect and friendship by all who knew him that Henry Brown.

Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Forest and Herbert, also three brothers, Jacob, Joseph and Peter, and one sister, Mrs. Jos. Buss.

The funeral was held at the Congregational Church Sunday, Rev. A.R. Rice officiating.

Deceased was a member of the E.F.U. and a member of the local firemen, both of which attended the funeral in a body.
