Marshall, Helen (27 Sep 1838 - 27 Dec 1906)

Mrs. Helen Marshall died at the home of her son E.W. Marshall in Plainfield, Wis., Dec. 27, 1906. The remains were brought to Neillsville, Clark County Saturday and the funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the home of Daniel Kennedy, Rev. A.R. Rice officiating.

Mrs. Marshall, whose maiden name was Helen Brown, was born at Grafton, Vt., Sept. 27, 1838. She was married to J.H. Marshall Sept. 27, 1856, at Woodstock, Ill., and they came to Black River Falls soon after, later moving to Neillsville in 1869, where her husband engaged in the hardware business. In 1875 she was left a widow. On child, Helen, died in infancy; three others, namely Mrs. Eva Marshall, Mrs. Daniel Kennedy and E. William Marshall survive her. She spent some fifteen years of her life after her husband's death with her parents at Augusta, and since their death she has made her home with her children. She was a woman of refinement and those ladylike qualities that readily won the respect of all who met her.

The following relatives from away were here to attend the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. B.F. Brown of Minneapolis; Mrs. A.S. Eaton of Superior; Mr. Ed Brown of Appleton; Mrs. C.F. stone of Nabagnan, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. E.W. Marshall and Mrs. Eva Marshall of Plainfield and Mrs. Cora Cannon of Wausau.
