Schmoll, Magdalena (4 Augl 1859 - 1 Augl 1907)
Mrs. Magdalena Schmoll died at her home in this city, Thursday afternoon, Aug. 1, 1907, after a long illness. Her death was due to a complication of diseases, arising from a cancerous growth.
Mrs. Schmoll, whose maiden name was Magdalena Schill, was born at St. Wendel, Wis., Aug. 4, 1859. She was married in 1880 to Aug. Schmoll and about 23 years ago came to Clark County, residing nearly four years on a farm in the town of Grant; they then moved into Neillsville and went into the hotel business. For about eighteen years Mrs. Schmoll has been hostess at the Wisconsin House, and has won among her neighbors and patrons, hundreds of friends who remember her with feelings of highest regard. She leaves a son John and a daughter Lizzie, both grown up, who have been her faithful assistants during recent years. Her aged father Nicholas Schill, who for two years past has lived with her, still survives.
The funeral services were held at the Catholic Church Monday, Rev. Albert Dorrenbach officiating.
