Selves, Donald (1883? - 10 Jan 1908)
A shock came to this community Saturday by the news that Donald Selves was killed by the cars Friday at the railroad yards known as the Minnesota Transfer between St. Paul and Minneapolis. He was acting as switch tender and was struck by a car, falling on the track and run over by the wheels, being killed instantly.
Deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Selves, and was twenty-four years of age. He was born and brought up here (Neillsville, Clark County) and was educated in Neillsville schools. Even as a boy his gentlemanly ways, his industry and good behavior made him respected by all who knew him. For several years he has been engaged in railroading and won a good reputation for efficiency and trustiness. About four years ago he was married and has since made his home in Minneapolis. Besides his wife and one child he is survived by his parents and two brothers, Byron and Hugh. The funeral took place at Minneapolis Sunday, his parents and brothers going from here to attend.
