Stanley, Elmira J. (1 Oct 1843 - 4 Jan 1909)

Mrs. Elmira J. Stanley died at her home on the North Side (Neillsville, Clark County), Jan. 4, 1909, from the effects of pneumonia.

Deceased, whose maiden name was Elmira Shupe was born in Fond du Lac Co., Oct. 1, 1843. She moved with her parents to Missouri where they lived a short time, returning to Wisconsin. She was married at Loyal in Oct. 1878 to Edward E. Stanley who survives her. She leaves one son, William, who is in Virginia and one daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Harder, who has been with her mother during her last sickness.

Mrs. Stanley followed dress making for many years past, a faithful and competent worker and having among her patrons many who made her a personal friend.

She was a member of the W.R.C. and the Maccabees and was loved and esteemed by all.

The funeral was held at the home on Wednesday under the direction of the Woman’s Relief Corps, Rev. W.P. Burrows officiating.
