Kerns, Annie C. (1861 - 5 Apr 1909)
The death of Mrs. Annie C. Kerns occurred at her home in this city at 1 o’clock last Monday morning, April 5, 1909. Funeral services were held in St. Mary’s Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday and the burial in the Union Cemetery followed on that day. Mrs. Kerns had bee a sufferer from a complication of causes of illness for several weeks and her death bed was surrounded by children and sisters. Mrs. Kerns was in her 47th year. She was born in Wisconsin, where her early life was spent. At Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., she was married to the late Richard Kerns, with whom she came to Washington in 1886. They lived in Seattle until they moved to this city about ten years ago. She was the mother of seven children, five of whom, Margaret, Nellie, Richard, Eva and Katie are living, all in this city. Besides there she leaves her father, two sisters and two brothers to mourn her death, all of who reside in Wisconsin. Her two sisters, Mrs. Geo. Howard of Granton, and Mrs. Austin Slocumb of Loyal, Wis., arrived last Sunday night, but too late for Mrs. Kerns to recognize them. (Skagit Co. Times - Washington)
