Searles, Thomas (1849? - 14 May 1909)
Thomas Searles, one of the oldest railroad men on the Northwestern lines, died very suddenly at Elroy Friday. He was about sixty years of age and had been on the railroad over thirty-five years. He was highly respected and loved by a large circle of friends. The funeral was held her under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge, deceased being a thirty-second degree member of that order. He was also member of the Brotherhood of Railway Conductors, a large body of whom attended the funeral. Burial took place in the Neillsville Cemetery (Clark County) at the side of his wife, who was a sister of Mrs. James Flynn, deceased.
