Joseph Emery Brown was born Jun 6, 1879 at Mankato, Blue Earth Co., Minn., son of George and Julia Thompson Brown. He passed away at his home Wednesday evening, Aug. 25, 1937, at 7:45 p.m., having reached the age of 58 years, 6 months and 6 days.
He came to this community in 1905 and lived on his farm in the town of Eaton, Clark County until 1919, when he moved to Greenwood, where he has since resided. He was a farmer and truck gardener.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Ella Short of Neillsville, three brothers, Norman and Bert of Ojibwa and Hubert of Red Lake Falls, Minn.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10:30 o’clock from the local Methodist Church and the body was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery, Rev. C.R. Gaylord officiated.
The pallbearers were Fred Kocher, George Kocher, Hugo Lenz, Eben Ketchpaw, Chet Shields and Lige Niman.
Those in charge of the flowers were Mrs. Fred Kocher and Mrs. Jos. Rondorf.
