Mrs. Henry Etta, nee Anna Stange, was born near Iron Ridge on Dec. 5, 1867 and came to Loyal, Clark County with her parents when she was five years old. The family settled on a farm about two miles north of that village, where she resided until her marriage to Henry Etta in 1887.
For several years after their marriage, the couple reside on a farm before moving to Loyal 45 years ago.
Since then they lived continuously in their present home. On Jul 4 of this year they celebrated their golden wedding. Mrs. Etta was a member of the Royal Neighbors and the Methodist Episcopal Ladies Aid society.
Mrs. Etta passed away at her home in Loyal on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1937 after several months illness. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home, Rev. Raymond Fleming, pastor of the Methodist church, officiated, and burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, Elmer Etta of Medford, Oscar Etta of Loyal, four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Esther) Stabnow of Greenwood; Mrs. Fred (Mabel) Tolleth of Wisconsin Dells; Mrs. Perry (Maude) Volk of Loyal; and Mrs. Carl (Florence) Keiner of Eau Claire.
She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Tom Etta of Loyal; three brothers, Herman and Louie Stange of Loyal and Otto Stange of Neillsville; and seven grandchildren.
