Hello, I Ran across this page and would like to ask a question. I am interested in seeing early photos of garages, work sheds, or out-buildings dating near mid 1800's. I am currently planning a garage/studio detached for our home. The property is in Madison and the original structure was built in 1863. I would be greatly interested in any photos that May show some of these buildings for reference only.
Sincerely, Mike Ebeling cell #608-692-1723

This house was located across the street from the courthouse (to the right in photo). It is a corner lot. To the west (left) in the same block was Svetlik Ford Motors and the Shultz Bros. store. Unknown to me who lived there, but I passed by many times coming from school in the 1960's.

This home is the original Sheriff's residence, part of the second Clark County Jail. It stood originally on the site of the "fortress" jail (current Jail Museum). The building was moved to the corner of East Fifth and Court Street (161 East Fifth). It has been extensively remodeled, the porch section having been replaced with a brick office addition. It is currently being used as the office of Concern Apartments.
