Beardsley, Mertie (Marriage - 9 Jun 1909)
Mr. Wm. H. Huntley and Miss Mertie Beardsley were married at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Beardsley in this city (Neillsville, Clark County), Wednesday afternoon, Jun 9, 1909, Rev. A.B. Scoville of Fairchild, formerly M.E. pastor here, officiating. It was a quiet wedding, only members of the two families and a few intimate friends being present. The bride and groom have lived here all their lives and are so well known that they scarcely need any introduction to our readers. The groom is the son of Mayor and Mrs. Wm. Huntley. He is proprietor of the Neillsville Marble and Granite Works, and is building up a good business in his line. His uniform good humor and courtesy to everyone have made his deservedly popular with all who know him best. The bride is a young lady who has also a very wide acquaintance, both in a social and a business way. For several years she has had a position in the W.J. Marsh Dry Goods Co. store, which brought her into contact with the public. She is not only thorough and competent in her work, but is known to all as a real lady in every sense of the word.
They will begin housekeeping at once in the home recently purchased by the groom from Mr. Stannard. We wish them prosperity and wealth, happiness and health and a long life in Neillsville.
