Harriman, Grace (Marriage - 13 Jan 1910)
Mr. Lewis H. Callender and Miss Grace Harriman were married at Glendive, Mont., Thursday, Jan. 13, 1910, Rev. T. . Leland, pastor of the M.E. Church of that city, officiating. The announcement of the marriage came as something of a surprise to many of the bride’s friends in this city (Neillsville, Clark County). Several weeks ago she went west to file on a claim which she secured near Beach, N.D. The groom, whose former home was at Melrose, Jackson Co., was in the west and after the claim was filed on and the other requirements of the law fulfilled, the marriage took place. They returned together Monday and will spend the rest of the winter here and at Melrose. The bride’s parents Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Harriman, formerly lived at Melrose and the two families have been friends for many years. As a teacher and later as a music teacher, the bride has made a wide acquaintance in and about this city. She is a young lady of the highest type of womanhood, and will receive the spontaneous good wishes of all her friends. Though a stranger to many here, the groom will receive the hearty congratulations of all who know the bride. They will go on the claim in the spring, probably purchasing other land and engage in ranching.
