Haas, Lorenz (19 Jan 1861 - 22 Augl 1909)
Lorenz Haas died at the hospital in Marshfield Aug. 22, 1909, from injuries received in the accident on the Seward Way Place some days before.
Mr. Haas was born Jan. 19, 1861, in Sheboygan, Wis., where he grew to manhood. He was married in 1886, and in 1898 moved to Kaukuana, where he and his family resided for eight years. Three years ago he bought the Bienick place northeast of Neillsville, Clark County, and since that time has been one of the most highly respected citizens of this community.
Among the people here are those who have known Mr. Haas for many years, and all have the same good words to speak of his honesty and uprightness, his kindness and fairness as a neighbor, and the many worthy qualities that go to make a good citizen.
Mr. Haas was a kind husband and father and there remains to mourn his loss his wife and nine children: Margaret of Superior, Wis.; Jake, at home; Kathryn, St. Paul, and Marie, Martine, Bernard, Aloys, Nellie and Joseph.
Mr. Joe Haas of Stanley, Mr. and Mrs. Math. Haas, Kaukauna, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Haas and Mr. Chris Wheeler of St. Paul were present at the funeral, which was held from the Catholic Church Wednesday forenoon, Aug. 25, Rev. A. Dorrenbach officiating.
