Lewe, John (? - Dec 1909)
John Lewe, whose home is a short distance west of Dells Dam in the town of Dewhurst, Clark County was found dead in his house last Thursday by the neighbors whose attention had been attracted by the bellowing of his cattle in the stable, as if they had not been fed or watered for some time. Mr. Lewe was found lying on the floor in the house, having apparently been dead several days.
The District Attorney was notified and Justice Campman was directed to hold an inquest. Vet Marsh, M.E. Wilding, Frank Tragsdorf, Dr. L.E. Pitcher, Dave Ross and Angelo Lyons were summoned as jurors and all drove to home of deceased. After due examination of the remains and the premises, a verdict was found that deceased had died of natural causes. He has a wife and four children living in Chicago, but for some time he has been at the place alone.
