Darling, Lenn H. (8 Apr 1889 - 20 Mar 1910)
Lenn H. Darling, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Darling died Sunday morning at 3 o’clock after a lingering illness of several months. Lenn was born at Thorp, Clark County, April 8, 1889. He came with his parents to Neillsville in 1892 and grew up here. He attended the city schools, passing through the eighth grade. In 1907 he enlisted in the U.S. Marines and served at Mare Island, Cal. Returning home he went to St. Paul to work in a wholesale house. There he took a severe cold, which developed into consumption. During his sickness he was under the watchful care of his mother, who watched in vain for some signs of returning health. He bore his sickness with great patience and cheerfulness. He was able to be about the house close to the time of his death and appreciated all that was done for him by his friends. Besides his parents he leaves one brother, Fred at home, a sister Mabel in Cal., and a little sister Virginia at home.
The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the M.E. Church under the auspices of the W.R.C., Rev. W. P. Burrows preaching the funeral sermon.
The bereaved family wishes to express their thanks for all the kindness shown by friends and especially by the ladies of the W.R.C.
