Babcock, Darwick G. (25 May 1827 - 1 Oct 1910)
Darwick G. Babcock, one of Clark County’s old residents, died in the town of Washburn, Clark County at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E.P. Waterman, Oct. 1, 1910. He was born at Scot, Cortland Co., N.Y., May 25, 1827, and was therefore 83 years, 4 months and 6 days old at his death. He came to Clark County in 1869 with his family and has lived here ever since. He was a man of the pioneer type, and did his part in the work needed in a new country.
He leaves to mourn his death two sons: Dean who lives here and Hance in the west; three daughters, Mrs. E.P. Waterman, Mrs. Will Tooley and Mrs. Jas. Finnegan. Mrs. A.H. Holvorson is a sister and Chas. Babcock of this city is a nephew. The funeral was held at Shortville Tuesday, Rev. W.P. Burrows officiating., burial taking place in Levis Cemetery.
