Kauffman, Angela Joyce (3 January 1927 – 13 February 2022)
Angela Joyce Kauffman, 95, Marshfield, was called to her eternal home on Sunday,
February 13, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer. Her beloved granddaughter
was by her side.
Joyce, as she went by her middle name, was born in Green Grove, Wisconsin, on
January 3, 1927, to Halver and Meta Becken. Growing up, she helped on the family
farm. One memory she talked about was picking potato bugs off the plants in the
summer. She married LaVerne Kauffman November 2, 1946, at their family home.
They were blessed with 71 years of marriage.
In their younger years, Joyce and LaVerne were very active. They belonged to
several card groups and enjoyed sheepshead, pinochle, smear, but most of all,
cribbage. They also belonged to a dance group and spent most Sunday afternoons
enjoying polka music, “dancing up a storm”. They owned land by Perkinstown, and
most summer weekends were spent enjoying their land. In their later years, they
enjoyed camping with their children and extended family; cooking over the fire,
playing games and cards and enjoying a beer. Joyce lived at Parkview Terrace for
21 years and made many friends there. At her end, she was content just to spend
quiet time there.
Joyce will sadly be missed by her children, Arla Kauffman, of Green Bay; Ron
(Julie) Kauffman, of Green Bay and Sally (Dan) Rakovec, of Spencer. She is also
survived by her sisters: Sandy Fredrickson, Darlene Schjoneman, Jun Decker and
brother Halver (Sandra) Becken Jr. She is also survived by her grandchildren,
Dean Dederich, David Theisen, Brittany Theisen, Tracy (Noel) Felix and Nicholas
(Emily) Rakovec. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Laverne; infant son, David: her sisters,
LaMyra Weinfurtner, Gloria Bedrosian and her brother Percy Becken, grandchildren
Arla Dederich and Jacob Rakovec and great grandson, Noelie Felix.
A celebration of life will be held at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 East
Veterans Parkway, in Marshfield on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 11 a.m. with
Pastor Heather Brown officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from
9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A lunch will be served after the ceremony.
The family would like to express their thanks to Heartland Hospice, especially
to Miranda and Ruth. Their kindness, care, and compassion are appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to be designated at a
later date.
