Verbeck, Forest A. (6 Apr 1886 - 8 Apr 1911)
Forest A.V. Verbeck died at the hospital in Marshfield Sunday afternoon, April 8, 1911, age 25 years and two days. His death came as a shock to his friends and family, as he was apparently recovering rapidly from the operation for appendicitis, which took place March 29. A rise in his temperature was noticed but it was not thought serious at first. His father Cecil Verbeck went over Friday and remained with him till his death. Deceased was born in the town of York, Clark County, living there till he was sixteen years old. Since then he has lived most of the time in Neillsville, except the year 1908, when he lived in the town of Dewhurst. In the year 1907 he was married to Miss Ella Warlum, who with their two little girls, one three and the other one year old, are left to mourn his early death. Forest Verbeck was an industrious, honorable citizen, spoke well of by all who knew him.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the Congregational Church, Rev. Risser officiating, and the Modern Woodmen, of which order deceased was a member, having charge of the ceremonies.
