Montgomery, Anna (25 Mar 1894 - 22 Jul 1911)

Death came to Anna Montgomery, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Montgomery, Saturday night, Jul 22, 1911, after a lingering illness. About a year ago she began to show signs of failing health, but she started to school in September, being in the second grade of high school, and continued with the work for two months, till urged by parents and teachers, she gave up her studies.

All that care and medical science could do for her was done, but consumption had fastened upon her its fatal grasp. Gradually she faded and grew thinner from day to day, and yet she remained cheerful and hopeful, even confident that she would get well, up to within a short time before her death.

She was born here in Neillsville, Clark County, March 25, 1894, and had lived all her young life here. She was a good girl; in the home a help and comfort to her parents, in school a model pupil. Although her death was expected, it has cast a gloom over the home and made sad the hearts of all who knew her. The deepest sympathy is felt for her father, mother and brother, who are left to mourn her early death. The funeral was held Tuesday at the home, Rev. W.P. Burrows preaching the funeral sermon.
