Weeks, Emeline (4 May 1829 - 15 Nov 1911)
Mrs. L. Weeks died at her home in this city (Neillsville, Clark Co.), Nov. 15, 1911. For some time she had been in feeble health and was very weak, pneumonia however, was the immediate cause of her death.
Mrs. Weeks, whose maiden name was Emeline Clark, was born at Westfield, Otsego Co., N.Y., May 4, 1829. She was married to L. Weeks at Cooperstown, N.Y. in 1845. They came to Black River Falls in 1858 and later came to Neillsville, where they have lived many years. She was possessed of the virtues and energy that characterized the pioneers. At the time of her death she and her husband were probably the oldest married couple in the county, having traveled life’s road together for sixty-six years.
Besides her husband, she left one son, Robert Weeks, and one daughter, Mrs. Chas. Sheret, both of this city. Funeral services were held Friday at the home, Rev. Prucia officiating, and the remains taken to Black River Falls for burial in the family lot.
