Mrs. Louis Hantke died at Sacred Heart Hospital Eau Claire, Oct. 21, 1912, after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Hantke, nee Mary A. Hughes was born in the town of Grant, Clark County Jul 3, 1873, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hughes. She attended country school and became a successful teacher. Later she took up stenography at which she became very proficient. For some time she was employed in the law office of O’Neill and Marsh. Nov. 25, 1902? she was married to Louis Hantke and they have made their home in Neillsville and vicinity since. All who knew her gave her their sincere love and respect. She was a woman of intelligence and high Christian character, devoted in a plain and quiet way to the last ideals of life.
She leaves to mourn her death, her husband and little daughter, her mother, seven brothers and one sister, besides many friends and neighbors who mourn with them. The funeral will be held at the Catholic Church at nine o’clock Friday morning.
