Rand, Olive (Marriage - 17 May 1911)

Mr. Ernest M. Dixon and Miss Olive Rand were married at the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Martha Rand, Wednesday evening May 17, 1911, Rev. W.T. Hendren of Greenwood officiating. Mr. Adolph Unger was groomsman and Miss Alta Rand, the bride’s sister was bridesmaid. The rooms were banked with beautiful flowers, and an arch of evergreens and carnations bent above the place where the bride and groom were to stand. Mrs. T.E. Brameld sang the beautiful and appropriate solo "Oh Promise Me", Zura Fricke playing the accompaniment, and as its last strains died away, she began the wedding march, the bridal party taking their places beneath the arch. The bride was dressed in white satin with net over, carrying cream roses; the groom wore black. A bountiful supper was served, about thirty-five guests being present. The young couple was the recipients of many fine gifts. The groom is the son of Mrs. Eva Dixon. He was brought up in Neillsville and is a young man of energy, ability and sterling character. He is an expert machinery man and at present has a position in L.H. Howard’s shops and garage. The bride was brought up at Greenwood, taught school successfully for some time, later taking a position in the Register of Deeds office, where her courtesy and efficiency have made her many friends.

The bride and groom left Thursday for Chicago, and other points on a wedding trip. They will be at home after Jul 1 at the residence of the groom’s mother. We hope to see them remain permanently in Neillsville, Clark County and prosper here. It is a hopeful thing for any community, when its best young people establish themselves in homes in their own locality.
