Short, Nettie B. (Marriage - 16 Augl 1911)
Mr. James E. Hughes and Mrs. Nettie B. Short will be married this (Wednesday) evening at the home of the groom’s sister, Mrs. Louis Handtke on Court St. (Neillsville, Clark Co.). The wedding will be a quiet one, only Mr. and Mrs. Handtke being present at the ceremony, which will be performed by W.A. Campman, J.P.
The bride and bridegroom are persons of excellent standing in this vicinity. The groom is the son of Mrs. Wm. Hughes in the town of Grant, where he has always lived. He is a thrifty and intelligent farmer and a good citizen. The bride is a lady who commands the friendship and respect of all who know her. She was too born and brought up in the town of Grant, for the past few years she has lived with her mother, Mrs. H. Counsell in Neillsville. The groom has a farm of his own but for the present they will make their home on the Hughes place, which he has rented. We join with many others in wishes for their prosperity and happiness.
