LOCAL NEWS

 

CURTISS George REISHUS of Athens called in on old friends here on Tuesday.

A number of young people enjoyed a wiener roast at the river on Hallowe'en.

Emil ERICKSON and family made a business trip to Conrad the first of the week.

Henry MACHLETT, Jr., is suffering from an attack of pneumonia but is improving at this time.

Waunetta STURMER has been absent from her school work at Colby this week on account of sickness.

F.H. MATTHIAS went to Neillsville on Monday to attend the meeting of the Co. equalization committee.

Miss Alice JOHNSON a teacher in the Marshfield schools spent the week end at the home of Lena THOMPSON on Saturday evening, November 12.

Wm. ANDERSON of Appolonia, wife and daugther were visitors of the formers mothers, Mrs. A. OLSEN on Saturday.

The Young People's Society will meet at the home of Theo. THOMPSON on Saturday evening, November 12.

T.B. PETERMAN who has been confined to his home the past six weeks with an attack of typhoid fever will soon be able to take up his duties at the bank.

Rev. H.P. NORDBY who has been pastor of the Nor. Luth. church here the past four and one half years has tendered his resignation to the trutees of the church. Rev. NORDBY received a call from Baldwin, Wis., and has decided to accept as this is a larger field. During his pastorate here, the church has grown and his many friends are sorry to see him leave his new congregation. He will preach his farewell sermon next Sunday morning in the English language.
