Jahr, Bernhard (30 Augl 1849 - 15 Jun 1913)

Mr. Bernhard Jahr passed away at the home of his son Oscar in the town of York, Clark County, on Sunday noon, Jun 15, 1913. He had been ailing only a short time, and died very suddenly of heart failure. He was born in Saxony, Germany, Aug. 30, 1849; and came to Washington Co., Wis. with his parents in 1851. In 1873 he came to Clark County, settling on a farm in the town of Grant. He was united in marriage to Augusta Drescher on Oct. 30, 1875. To this union were born eight children: Oscar and Frank of the town of York; Mrs. Chas. Steuerwald of Loyal, Wesley of Waupaca, and Edwin, Clara and Albert of Neillsville, and one died in infancy, leaving his widow and seven children to mourn his loss.

The funeral was held Tuesday at Granton, where the remains were laid to rest.
