Cross, Mary J. (24 Jan 1855 - 7 Apr 1914)

Mary J. Cross died at her home in this city (Neillsville, Clark County) Tuesday, April 7, 1914, aged 59 years, 2 months and 14 days. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and came to Wis. when about 7 years of age. She was adopted in a family by the name of Dudley at West Salem, where she lived till she was about 13, when she came here and lived with Mary Foote on the Ridge road. She Was married to Alexander Cross in 1875. He died about twenty-two years ago. She leaves one daughter, Helen Cross, who lives at home; also one sister and two brothers. She was a woman who lived a quiet home life, loved by all her neighbors. She did what she could to be of service in the neighborhood and church. She was a member of the Congregational Church for the past 21 years.

The funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the house.
