Whitcomb, Ruth (Marriage - 17 Sep 1913)
Last evening at 8 o’clock at the parsonage of Trinity Lutheran Church, Rev. Roy Mareen Badger officiating, was solemnized the marriage of Ernest Kopecky of Lincoln and Miss Ruth Whitcomb of Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. Only relatives of the young couple witnessed the ceremony.
The bride has been a resident of Beatrice for some time and since coming here has made a host of friends. She is a talented violinist, and at present holds the position of leader of Radebaugh’s Orchestra of this city.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kopecky, who reside on East Court St., this city. Some years ago he entered the employ of the Burlington as a stenographer at this place, and was later transferred to Wymore, where he is employed as a stenographer in the superintendent’s office. Recently he was promoted to the position of chief clerk in the Burlington office at Lincoln. He is also a fine musician, and for many years has appeared in public in Beatrice as a cello player.
Mr. and Mrs. Kopecky will leave for Lincoln this morning, where they will reside, and they carry with them the best wishes of a host of friends to their new home. Mrs. Kopecky will retain her position of Radebaugh’s Orchestra here, and will come to Beatrice whenever her services are needed. (Beatrice, Neb., Exchange)
