Edwards, Clara (Marriage 30 Nov. 1921)

The announcement is received here that Mr. James Jacques and Miss Clara Edwards were married Nov. 30 at Madison. The groom is one of Neillsville’s boys of who we many well be proud. After graduating from high school he entered the State University, doing outside work from time to time to pay his way. When the war came, he entered the service with old Company A. Later he was chosen as one of the Company to be sent to Ft. Sheridan from training at the Officers Training Camp, and was there commissioned First Lieutenant. He was soon sent over seas and saw active service till the close of the war. Returning home he went to work on the farm until he was appointed to do extension work for the State University. His clean upright character, his fine, manly bearing, and his quiet, modest manner, make him a young man greatly to be admired.

The bride’s home is at Bloomington, Wis., her father being the prominent business man of that place. She is a graduate of Milwaukee Downer College. She has visited here at the home of Dr. and Mrs. W.A. Leason, whose daughter was a classmate at Downer. She and her husband (Dr. and Mrs. M.E. Bennett) of Black Earth were present at the wedding. The Neillsville people who have met the bride, speak very highly of her.

We feel more than a passing interest in these fine young people, and hope that good fortune awaits them. They deserve it.
