Mr. Eugene A. Short and Miss Leah Cook were quietly married Saturday afternoon, Jan. 28, at the M.E. parsonage, Rev. Walter T. Scott officiating. The young couple were attended by William Vine and Miss Helen Short, sister of the groom. The groom is the son of Mrs. James Hughes of the town of Grant. He is an energetic young man of good habits. The bride is the daughter of Mr. Sam Cook, also of Grant, and is a bright and attractive young lady. The young couple grew up as neighbors, and while they have taken up the responsibilities of married life at a comparatively early age, both are accustomed to work and responsibility and are will qualified to win success. They are most worthy young people and have the best wishes of a large circle of relatives and warm friends. For the present they will live at the James Hughes home.
