At the age of fifteen years he came with his parents to Richland Center, Wis., and a few years later they moved to Alma Center, where the years of his young manhood were spent. On April 7, 1867, he was united in marriage to bertha W. Murray of Alma Center, and about twenty-five years ago took up their home on the farm in the town of Cleveland, where they have since resided.

The children are Wesley of Billings, Mont., Mrs. Fannie Peterson, town of Cleveland, Mrs. Rose White and Mrs. Jennie Dunn of Garden Valley, George of Tunnel City, John of Merrillan, and Grover at home. Deceased was a man honest and upright in all ways, of a kindly disposition and well liked by all who knew him.
