Lowman, Bertha W. (8 Mar 1854 - 10 May 1923)

Bertha W. Murray was born in Pennsylvania on March 8, 1854. She came with her parents, Nancy and Miles Murray, to Neillsville at the age of seven years. She was united in marriage to Levi Lowman on April 7, 1868. They lived near Alma Center, in the town of Cleveland, Jackson Co., Wis., until the death of Mr. Lowman, which occurred Feb. 11, 1923.

Mrs. Lowman passed away after a long illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. White, in Garden Valley, on May 10, 1923.

She leaves to mourn her death, seven children, namely: Mrs. Fannie Peterson, town of Cleveland; Wesley of Billings, Montana; Mrs. Jennie Dunn and Mrs. H. White of Garden Valley; George of Tunnel City; John of Merrillan; and Grover at home.

Mrs. Lowman was a kind and loving mother, and a splendid neighbor, always ready and willing to help others in sickness. She will be sadly missed by relatives and friends in the community where she lived. The funeral was held at the home Saturday, May 12, at 1:30 o'clock, Rev. Slack of Merrillan, officiating. Burial was in Garden Valley Cemetery.
