Schumacher, Nanna (15 NOV 1876 - 3 NOV 1923)

The remains of Mrs. John Schumacher, who died in a sanatorium at Sparta last Saturday evening about 7:00, were brought here (Humbird, Clark County, Wis.) for burial Tuesday afternoon by Undertaker Kretschmer. Services were held at the Reformed Church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. D. Grether preaching the burial sermon. Interment was made in the Mentor Cemetery.

Miss Nanna Eisenhardt was born in Germany on Nov. 15, 1876. When about eight years of age, she came with her parents to America, they settling near this village, where she grew to womanhood. Nov. 24th, 1898, she was united in marriage to John Schumacher, and they made their home on a farm near this village until about ten eyars ago, when they moved to Merrill. Four years ago she was afflicted with a stroke, after which she failed until death relieved her, at the age of 46 years, 11 months and 18 days.

To Mr. and Mrs. Schumacher were born seven children, two of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, five daughters, three brothers, Chris of North Bend, Jacob of Garden Valley, and Henry of Plymouth, one sister, Mrs. George Laffe, her aged father, and five of grandchildren, nearly all of whom were present at the burial services.

Deceased was a woman well liked by all who knew her in this vicinity, and who mourn with the sorrowing family and relatives in her untimely death.
