(13 Mar 1849 - 27 OCT 1924) Mattie Evenson was
born March 13, 1849, in Stange Hedemarken, Norway. She immigrated
to America in March 1882, and was married Nov. 8, 1883, to Even
Goodager at Eau Claire. They lived nine years in Trempealeau Co.
and then five years in Eau Claire. On Nov. 7, 1896, she, with the
family, settled on a farm in the town of Cleveland, Jackson Co.,
where she lived until her death, Oct. 27, 1924, at the age of 75
years, 7 months and 14 days. She leaves to mourn her death, a
husband and two sons, Nels and Edward; two sisters in Norway, and
one brother in Van Hook, N.D. Three daughters preceded her in
death. She was baptized and confirmed in the Norwegian Lutheran
Church. For the past twenty years she has been a sufferer, the last
seven of which she was an invalid. The funeral was held at the home
Wednesday, conducted by M. Kretschmer. Rev. C. F. Klein preached
the sermon to a large number of sympathizing friends, and burial
