Penke, for many years a resident of the town of Worden, Clark
County, Wis., died at his home in that place of paralysis, after an
illness of nearly two years, aged 61 years and 2 months. Mr. Penke
was born in Krone, Germany in 1853, and came to St. Anna, Wis.,
with his parents when a small boy. Twenty-three years ago he moved
with his family to Stanley from Maseppa, Minn. Besides his wife he
leaves to mourn him eight children: Joseph Henke of Glasgow, Mont.,
Dr. W. A. Oenke of La Cross, Wis., Louis, Peter, Emil, Mrs. Henry
Driessen, Misses Martha and Mathilda, who reside here. The funeral
was held on Saturday morning from St. Bernard's Church, Father
Neises officiating, interment taking place in the Catholic
