(1828? - 18 Augl 1914) Dominick Pleckner,
aged eighty-six years, died at a hospital at Superior on Tuesday,
Aug. 18, 1914, of old age and general debility. For some time past
Mr. Pleckner has been residing with his daughter, Mrs. W. G.
Krause, at Auburn, Minn., and upon being taken ill was taken to the
hospital where he died. The body was brought here for interment on
Thursday last, the funeral taking place on Friday morning from St.
Bernard's Church, Father Neises officiating, burial following in
the Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Pleckner was born in Saxony, Germany,
where he grew to manhood, and was united in marriage at an early
age. About the year 1880 he immigrated to this country and resided
for several years at Buffalo, N.Y., coming to Stanley in 1884 where
he has since made his home on a farm northeast of the village
(Stanley, Clark County, Wis.). He leaves a wife and ten children,
Mrs. Aug. Wiesner, Mrs. James Sheblak, Mrs. W. Soderburg and Ferd.
Pleckner of this place, Mrs. W. G. Krause of Auburn, Minn., James
Pleckner of Finlayson, Minn., Fred Pleckner of Cloquet, Minn., Mrs.
L. Banderob of Eau Claire, Gotlieb Pleckner of Polley and Tony
Pleckner, all of whom were present at the funeral except Tony,
