(30 JUN 1825 - 21 Dec 1914) Grunwald Poppe
died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Augusta Pfrimmer in this
city Monday night, Dec. 21, 1914, aged 89 years, 5 months and 21
days. The deceased was born in Prussia and migrated to the Canadian
Provinces in 1861, where he resided for 16 years. He then came to
the states and located in Clark County, Wis., where he became a
substantial and much respected citizen. He was twice married, first
to Ernestina Neitsel who died in 1881. He married again to Louisa
Scettin, who departed this life about seven years ago. Mr. Poppe is
survived by two sons, Charles G. of this city and Wm. E. of
Stanley, and two daughters, Mrs. Pfrimmer of this city and Mrs.
Nicols, who resides in Manitoba. The funeral occurred yesterday and
the remains were interred in the cemetery at Reseburg near the old
