Stern, Mary (11 AUG 1924)
The marriage of Comrade E. P. Houghton and Mrs. Mary Stern of Puyallup, came as a surprise to their many Grand Army and Puyallup friends, when it leaked out Tuesday that they were married Monday in Seattle. Mr. and Mrs. Houghton will make their home at the home of Mrs. Houghton on Seventh St. northeast. (Pallyup, Wash. Tribune, Aug. 16th, 1924)
The foregoing item will be a surprise to a large number of fraternal and other friends of the groom in this section of the Badger state, who hasten to wireless their congratulations. We glean from Bro. Houghton's letter that the bride was a widow of 67 summers and is a popular lady of his adopted city. May their lives be replete with happiness down the western slope.
