Wed Seventy Years
Mr. and Mrs. David L. Davis, whose home is near DePere, celebrated their seventieth wedding anniversary on Sunday, June 8th. Mrs. Davis, whose maiden name was Mary Jenkins, is a sister of Mrs. Emma Stuve. They were married here in Humbird by the Rev. Stanton, the family making their home on what was known as the Chauncey Young farm. For nearly the span of their married life, Mr. and Mrs. Davis have lived on the farm near DePere. He is 94 and Mrs. Davis is 84. They have two sons and six daughters. One son is on the farm. Last Sunday, mistaking the day of the anniversary, Mrs. Stuve and her daughter, Mrs. Martin, and two of the latter's sons autoed to the Davis farm. Although Mr. Davis finds it a bit difficult to hear well, and his eyesight is not as good as it was three quarters of a century ago, both are enjoying fairly good health.
*David Llewelyn Davis died three months after this anniversary on 22 Sep 1947 - Mary Almira Jenkins Davis died 1 Sep 1956 at DePere, WI
