Martin - Anderson
Miss Eileen Martin, daughter of Mrs. Margaret Martin, and Mr. Roy Anderson, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Anderson, Sr., of Owen, were united in marriage Friday afternoon, January 31st, at 4:00 o'clock, at the home of the bride's mother. They were attended by Miss Rosemary Martin as bridesmaid, and Mr. Laurie Anderson as best man. The Rev. Edward J. Sachtjen read the wedding ceremony.
The bride wore a dress of royal blue velvet, with a bouquet of roses and daffodils. The bridesmaid wore gray with a bouquet of yellow daffodils. The groom wore a suit of navy blue, with a white carnation boutonniere.
The young couple left the same evening for Madison, where they will make their home.
Only relatives were present at the happy event. Those from away were the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Anderson, Sr. and Doris and Laurie, a sister and brother, and Mrs. Howell Stuve, all of Owen.
The bride is a graduate of one of the state teachers' colleges and has been teaching the past three years. The groom served in World War II in the navy, having received his discharge last spring.
A happy pre-nuptial event was a shower given in honor of the bride by friends at Owen, and a number from here attending. Many nice gifts were received by her at that time.
