Shutes Retire from Store
Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Shute are retiring from the store business in Altoona, after a continuous service behind the counters since 1898--38 years, eight of which were spent in Humbird, from 1914-1922.
The Altoona store was in the hands of M. Pond during the years Mr. Shute and wife were in Humbird. The stock is now sold to W. F. Emanuel, of Fall Creek, who will continue to operate his store in the latter village also.
Mr. and Mrs. Shute will continue to reside in Altoona, unless the lure of the old home town becomes too strong, which will bring them back, to their home here.
The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Shute wish them many years in which to enjoy the fruits of their labors.
We understand that Hugh Russell, who has been with Mr. Shute for many years, will remain with the store.
